Presentations from the International standardization in the reliability engineering & technology arena

The ISO/TC 67/WG4 Reliability engineering and technology, Petrobras and ABNT hosted a seminar on "International standardization in the reliability engineering & technology arena" with the sub title "Global standards used locally worldwide - Safety focus and value for Brazilian oil & gas business arena. Here you will find the presentations from the seminar.

The seminar took place in Rio de Janeiro on the 3 November 2014.

The objective for the seminar was for the working group to inform about the latest status on their standards. Specific focus where to be given to the ISO/TR 12489 Reliability modelling and calculation of safety systems, as well as others in progress. The reliability of safety systems is of utmost importance for oil & gas safety. The ISO/TR 12489 aims to identify the challenges arising when dealing with such systems and to describe the relevant - state of the art - reliability engineering solutions. The ISO/TR 12489 is in line with the IEC 61508 and 61511 standards.
