Building for the Future
How can standards contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and digital construction industry? This was the focus of a conference hosted by Standards Norway on 19 October, bringing together Norwegian and international experts to share practical experiences and explore future opportunities for standardisation. The conference was held in connection with the ISO/TC 59 plenary week in Oslo, marking the committee's 80th anniversary.
The conference brought together representatives from the Norwegian construction industry, public-sector organisations and international participants during the ISO/TC 59 plenary week in Oslo.
Through presentations, panel discussions and practical examples, the conference explored how international standards contribute to a more sustainable, efficient and resilient built environment. Norwegian and international speakers shared insights into the role of standards in the construction sector, with a particular focus on digitalisation, sustainability, prefabrication and resilience, as well as future needs and opportunities for standardisation.
The conference also provided opportunities for networking and exchanging experiences between Norwegian and international experts.
