Presentations from the ISO Seminar on International Standardization in the Reliability Technology and Cost Area
ISO and with Statoil as a host organized the successful seminar entitled “International Standardization in the Reliability Technology and Cost Area” on Friday 4 May 2018. This was the 4th ISO seminar on this topic and was held at the Statoil offices in Houston.
The ISO Working Group, ISO/TC 67/WG 4 Reliability engineering and technology, which is responsible for reliability and cost related ISO standards in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries was responsible for this ISO seminar. Similar seminars have been held before in Brazil (Rio-2014), Norway (Stavanger-2016) and the Netherlands (Delft-2017). The seminar was done in collaboration with ISO/TC 67 and IOGP, and was chaired by Tony Ciliberti (Reliability Dynamics). The seminar participants were informed about latest status and their applications, through management sessions, technical sessions, and a panel discussion. Specific focus was given to the key standards ISO 14224 Reliability and maintenance data, ISO 19008 Standard cost coding system, and the next revision of ISO 20815
The seminar offered a unique opportunity to learn about international standards for various stakeholders in USA and six other participating countries, and included a variety of stakeholders in the industries such as oil & gas companies, drilling contractors, service/suppliers and consulting companies, professional associations, regulator, and universities.
