General terms of contract concerning purchase of medical equipment and laboratory equipment – NS 8438
NS 8438 contains provisions for the purchase of IVD medical equipment, other medical equipment and laboratory equipment. The standard facilitates a balanced distribution of risk between the contractual parties involved and sets out general terms of contract for use in connection with purchasing such equipment.
By using NS 8438, time, costs and resources can be saved by not having to create custom agreements and fair contract terms are ensured.
The standard will be beneficial for buyers and suppliers of medical equipment and laboratory equipment.
Complies with EU-Regulations
Where relevant given the intended purpose, the responsibilities and obligations of the contractual parties may also be derived in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745 of the European Parliament and of the Council on medical devices (MDR), and Regulation (EU) 2017/746 of the European Parliament and of the Council on in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR).
The standard may also be used for purposes outside of the above-mentioned regulations.
