Subscription for students
Are you a student in need of access to standards? We can offer you a student subscription at a favorable price. With this subscription, you'll gain reading access to NS, IEC, ISO, and NEK standards, totaling over 50,000 valid standards. Additionally, as a student, you'll receive discounts on printed and bound standards.
The student subscription costs NOK 500,- excluding VAT per year. The subscription is valid from July 1st to July 1st the following year.
How to purchase a student subscription
You must be logged in as a student to purchase a student subscription. Even if you have an old student account, you must also create a new user account on our new website.
If you don't already have a student account on our new website, register as a new student user by clicking on the "Log in" link at the top of the page. See the guide below on how to register as a student user.
Then, search for "student subscription" in the search field on standard.no or view the product further down on this page. Click on the product and press "Add to Cart". You will then be directed to the shopping cart where you confirm the purchase and can pay with Klarna. Follow the further instructions, and you will have immediate access to the standards after payment.
How to find your standards
After purchasing the student subscription, you automatically gain access to read standards from NS, IEC, ISO, and NEK online. Use the search field on our website to find the standards you're looking for and click "Open" to read them.
You can also bookmark the standards you use most by clicking "Favourite". This way, your favourites are easily accessible under the "My products" section by clicking on your name at the top right of standard.no when logged in (the three lines on mobile). You can also find all the standards you have access to under My products.
How to register as a student user
Click on the "Log in" button at the top right corner. Scroll down to "New user", click "Register", select “Student”and fill out the form. Here, you must enter your student ID and select the educational institution you belong to.
The email address must have a domain associated with the educational institution, otherwise, you will not be accepted as a student. Once you have registered, you will receive a verification email at the email address you provided. Click on "Activate my account", and you will be taken to a page where you must set a password and accept the terms of use.
Discount on printed and bound standards
Ordering a printed and bound copy of a standard costs extra, but as a student you get discounts on this. The discount is 50% off the list price in the online store per standard printed and bound. This discount applies only to products with the prefixes NS and NEK. It is not possible to print it yourself.
You must be registered as a student with an email address issued by the school to purchase at a discounted price. Products with the prefixes NS and NEK will automatically receive a 50% discount on the price in the online store when you are logged in as a student.
If you do not have a valid email address from the educational institution, you can send the standard you want along with a copy of a valid student ID to us at salg@standard.no.
