NORSOK S-001 is considered for revision
The NORSOK standard on technical safety is undergoing a systematic review to ensure the quality of the standard. We invite the industry to give feedback on whether the standard should be confirmed as is, or if it should be revised by 10 August.
NORSOK S-001:2020+AC:2021 Technical safety describes the principles and requirements for the development of the physical safety design, i.e. technical safety, of offshore installations for production of oil and gas. Where applicable, the standard may also be used for mobile offshore drilling units.
The NORSOK standard and NS-EN ISO 13702, defines the required standard to establish and maintain an adequate level of safety for personnel, environment and material assets.
Give your feedback
If the conclusion is to revise the standard, input from users on topics that need corrections, improvements, additions, or revisions are highly valuable.
The improvement proposals can be sent through the form below and will be used as input to the potential revision process.
We also ask the industry to nominate candidates to participate in the potential revision process.
Deadline: 10 August 2025.
