Using the reading tool for API standards at the Global service level
At the Global service level, users have access to standards from foreign standards development organizations (SDO). For API standards, a reading tool from Accuris is used.
In this guide, we show you how to log in and use the reading tool from Accuris used for the Global service level. This currently only applies to API standards, but will later also include standards such as BS, ASME and IEEE.
Logging In
When you are on our website and click "Open" on API standards with Global subscripton, you will be redirected to the document viewer at the website accuristech.com.
Integrated systems
When you click on API standards, you will be redirected to Accuris with seamless access. There is no need to log in again, as our systems are fully integrated.
Privacy
Personal data is processed by Accuris in accordance with their privacy policy.
Future access
After the first time, login will occur automatically via Single Sign-On (SSO) using your regular user credentials.
Document viewing
When you open a document, several functions are available to customize your view.
Zoom
Use the magnifying glass to zoom in and out.
Adjustment
The tool automatically defaults to "Fit to Width."
Full Screen
You can enable full-screen mode.
Rotation
Rotate the view clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Navigation
Scroll between pages or enter the specific page number you wish to jump to.
Download
You can download the document by clicking the download icon in the top right corner. See the red frame in the image below.
Some SDOs do not permit downloading, and their standards will not be available for download. These can only be accessed through the document viewer.
Other SDOs allow downloading but apply extra security (Digital Rights Management – DRM). To download, you must install the FileOpen plugin for use with the PDF reader Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Functionality – Action Rail
On the right side, you will find a toolbar (Action Rail) with essential tools.
Search
Open the search function on the right and use keywords to find information within the document.
Table of Contents
Provides quick access to different chapters via links (not available for all documents).
Summary
Here you can view document metadata and abstract.
Close
Use the "Close" button to exit the document and close the tab.
