Public consultation meeting on NORSOK S-006 HSEQ contract requirements
The NORSOK S-006 standard has been revised with a new structure and retitled HSEQ Contract Requirements. A draft of the new version will soon be released for public consultation. Standards Norway invites you to a digital information meeting on 21 May 2026 at 08:30, where we will present the standard and explain how to participate in the consultation.
When: Thursday 21 May
Where: Virtual - Teams
NORSOK S-006 covers requirements for HSEQ in contracts related to the Norwegian petroleum industry. HSEQ includes health, occupational health, working environment, safety, security, external environment, human rights, quality, and sustainability. The predecessor, NORSOK S-WA-006:2018, is outdated and has been withdrawn as a valid standard. It has been decided that NORSOK S-006 HSEQ contract requirements shall continue as a permanent NORSOK standard.
The purpose of the standard is to ensure that stakeholders involved in contract work – the company, contractors, subcontractors, and their suppliers – carry out their work in accordance with the requirements of the standard and applicable regulations, and that the standard contributes to increased safety, standardization, cost efficiency, and predictability.
The provisions of the standard are intended to:
- promote a high and consistent level of HSEQ performance across the supply chain;
- facilitate compliance with Norwegian laws, regulations, and relevant standards;
- support the implementation of robust and standardised HSEQ management systems;
- encourage continuous improvement and experience transfer among all parties;
- contribute to the competitiveness and reputation of the Norwegian petroleum sector.
The standard has now been revised, and the committee has prepared a draft that is being circulated for public consultation.
At the meeting, Standard Norway and the committee will present the proposed changes to the standard and explain how you can participate in the consultation.
We encourage broad participation in the consultation to ensure that the standard maintains high quality.
