NORSOK T-101 is being revised

Communication and alarm systems are important for safety on offshore installations. The NORSOK T-101 standard sets requirements for telecom systems used in the petroleum industry. Standards Norway is now conducting a systematic review of the standard and invites the industry to provide feedback for the revision by 4 December.

NORSOK T-101 Telecom systems specifies functional and technical requirements for the design, installation and testing of telecom systems. The standard applies to offshore oil and gas production installations, among others.

The standard is now being revised, and during this process input from users on topics that need corrections, additions, or revisions are highly valuable.

This includes:

  • user experience - Does the standard require any adjustments?
  • are there new methods or new technology that should be mentioned or incorporated into the standard?
  • are there other relevant standards or legal requirements that should be mentioned in the standard?

Comments will be used as input in the revision process.
