NORSOK N-005 and NORSOK N-006 are merged into one document. The content has gone through an extensive upgrade and outlines the assessment of the structural integrity to all type of existing load-bearing offshore structures used in petroleum activities.

This document serves as a supplement to NORSOK N-001 and is intended to be used in conjunction with NORSOK N-003 and NORSOK N-004, for cases where structures are operated beyond their original design requirements. Additionally, this document addresses cases where structural resistance cannot be easily verified through standard design calculations, and where additional information obtained throughout structure’s lifespan can be utilized can be utilised to demonstrate structural adequacy. The criteria for when such assessments are necessary are detailed in this document, in accordance with NORSOK N-001.
