NORSOK I-106 Fiscal metering systems is on enquiry

NORSOK I-106:2025 Fiscal metering systems replaces I-106:2014. The document has undergone a systematic revision to ensure the quality and relevance of the standard. The industry is hereby invited to consider the proposal for a new standard. Deadline 25 September.

The main changes since last edition are:

  • Improved description on metering systems for multiphase fluids by adding clause 9, and details throughout document added
  • Improved cost, benefit and risk analysis by annex C replaced, more thorough descriptions, and assessments considering several fields described
  • Appendix A on testing and inspection totally renovated
  • Clarifications on gas chromatograph by including summary of requirements and appendix describing an example is restructured
  • Removed appendix on guidelines to implementation of ISO 3171, and implemented this in clause 11.2.2.
  • Minor corrections and edits throughout the document

Scope of NORSOK I-106:2025

This document describes the functional and technical requirements for fiscal metering systems for hydrocarbons in liquid, gas and mixed condition based on dynamic methods. Further, this document provides criteria for selection of such systems or main components thereof.
