Academic Standards Day
Standards shape the technology we use, the markets we operate in, and the solutions we will rely on in the future. But who decides how standards are developed? And why should you care?
At Academic Standards Day, you will get an introduction to standardization. Together with experts from research, industry, and standardization, we will explore how standards are related to and influence innovation, technology, and working life, and how you can get involved and have a say.
The theme of the 2026 event is Digital Product Passport (DPP). Through practical cases from DigiPass, industry, and standardization work, we will look at what it takes for data, products, and systems to actually work together, and why standards are essential for interoperability, transparency, efficiency, and sustainability, among other things.
You will not just sit and listen. Through discussions, challenges, and games, you will get to experience what it is like to represent different interests, negotiate, and reach solutions that several parties can agree on. You will meet people who use standardization in research, education, and working life, and discover how knowledge of standards can be useful in your future career.
In short: You will see how standards shape the future, and how you can help shape the standards.
Join us for a seminar at The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) on Wednesday, 18 November. The programme and registration details will be available soon.
