New edition of NORSOK Z-015 Temporary equipment
This document specifies requirements for temporary equipment to be used by operators and their suppliers or other external partners involved in offshore oil and gas activities, and a new edition was published in late December 2020.
This includes design, development, production, storage, distribution, and any other activity related to temporary equipment.
This standard will be relevant at all stages in the value chain (manufacturers, rental businesses, contractors and byers on behalf of the end user) so that temporary equipment used offshore has a satisfactory function and is safe to use. Using the standard can contribute to economic growth and ensure that high requirements for HSE on all temporary equipment used offshore are satisfied.
The main changes in this edition can be summarised as follows:
- This edition aims to provide users with a unified explanation on how this standard relates to equipment manufactured and declared compliant prior to NORSOK Z-015:2020.
- It includes deviations for equipment build and declared compliant to earlier editions of the standard.
- All requirements are reviewed by the expert group to ensure a consistent and cost-efficient standard that is unified understood by all users.
This edition replaces the version from 2019 and is available in both English and Norwegian.
